In 1933, the Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs adopted and
registered this emblem as the distinguishing symbol of club membership,
with the following official interpretation:
-
FACE: Looking to the future, courageous, eager, intent
upon a goal, absorbed in the vision of achievement.
-
THE SUN AND ITS RAYS: Symbolizing the light of
knowledge on international sisterhood and the vast
horizons possible to women.
-
CANADA: Portraying our homeland whose honour we
guard, whose lawas we uphold, whose progress we
promote by living up to our aims and objectives, and by
the careful thoughtful use of our franchise.
-
MAPLE LEAVES AND TRILLIUM: Touching the circle of
friendship are maple leaves (patriotism) and trillium, the
three parts of which are faith in women's ability, hope for
the future and love of humanity.
-
EIGHT POINTS OF
OCTAGON: Indicating - God, faith,
ability, harmony, uprightness, vision, membership, revenue.
-
SCROLL: Unfolding spotless and kept ever thus, bearing
the letters denoting our Canadian Federation of Business
and Professional Women's Clubs.
